Trust Ayurveda - Forget memory Loss

When was the last time you forgot where you kept your reading glasses, or the car keys, or your slippers? Well, all these may not be direct signs of a chronic memory loss but rest assured almost each one of us experiences some kind of a memory loss at various stages of life. Memory loss could be just a normal sign of ageing or the warning sign of something more ominous.

It is estimated that there are currently 26 million people worldwide suffering from memory loss, commonly known as Alzheimer’s disease. This figure is projected to grow to more than 106 million people by 2050. Chronic memory loss usually begins after the age of 60 and the risk only increases with age. Younger people in their 30s, 40s and 50s may also develop Alzheimer’s disease, but it is rare. More often than not, memory loss finds its origin in hereditary causes.

Alzheimer’s disease displays the following symptoms:-

  • ·         Disturbances in memory, attention, and orientation
  • ·         Changes in personality
  • ·         Language difficulties
  • ·         Impairments in walking and movement
The neural pathways of our brain store all our memories in cells known as neurons. When these neural pathways are damaged, it results in memory loss or short-term/long term memory loss. If this disease is left untreated for long, it results in a decline in the intellectual function causing a disease of the brain known as dementia. Though dementia itself is not a disease, but it is caused by other diseases such as Alzheimer's, vascular dementia, Pick's disease, Huntington's disease etc. symptoms like disorientation, inability to perform complex tasks, forgetfulness, repetition of words or movements, difficulty in sleeping, behavioral and personality changes, often lead to Dementia.

A few memory boosting tips may include exercising, running, and practicing meditation and tai’ chi, which may not only help in keeping a healthy body, but also help clear the mind. This allows you to focus on more important tasks and reduces the margin of forgetfulness.

Several studies have shown great improvements through specific supplements in the case of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. To further boost your efforts at achieving a better memory, you may consider the new Alzheimer’s supplement, AlzCare. AlzCare is a blend of five rejuvenating herbs which keep the brain cells well-nourished and normalizes the depleted tissue elements by maintaining blood supply and oxygen. This herbal health supplement is a great combination of vitamins, herbs and minerals and naturally boosts mental abilities and acts as a Nervine tonic due to herbal properties found in Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) powder, which soothes and empowers imbalance that are common in older age.

  1. There are some chronic disease that currently has no cure. But treatment are available for their symptoms. Treatment can't stop the progression of the symptoms of this disease, but treatment can slow down the symptoms. Alzheimer's is a chronic disease like these. Alzheimer's treatment
